This cup was designed to do both.
For two decades growing up, Portugal was a grand adventure out of Scotland for my family. Each trip included a stop at a small pottery workshop where we would pick out what felt like a ceremonial piece of our trip.
On my most recent trip back, it felt like a perfect time to engage in what would be known as The Portugal Cup. Together, we combined Discommon's distinct design language with generations of Portuguese ceramic expertise to create the cup you're looking at now. Every piece is handcrafted and hand-painted by the Dominguez family, carrying forward techniques refined over decades.
No two cups are exactly alike. Every brush stroke, glaze variation, and subtle inconsistency is evidence that a person—not a machine—made the thing you're holding.
